Actually, what I desperately need is verse-reading progams, or even a
special robot: it should look like the sexiest chick, and should be
able to read my poems and then pronounce something like "Alex, you are so
cute a poet", and some more phrases (well, not that many, just 3 or 4).
Could you send my one? I agree to take the stupedest one for the lowest
price; or even couple: one blonde and one red-haired... But don't send
bold ones, please!

Besides, HIRAM is rather unpolite word in Russian, believe me :-)

Subject: when you are drunk - be naked //Lexa 95

When you are drunk, be naked, far away
from things that serve you well on sober days,
or coming back to consciousness, you'll miss
smallest of them, like wallets/earrings/keys;
meanwhile, you'll find some craters on your "Porshe",
and strange design of windows and the porch
of neighbor Jenny's house, in microwave -
dead cat in milky puddles of "aftershave";
then, taking off your torn and stained jeans,
you'll ask yourself in vain: "What does it mean -
these purple stains? And also: how and where
I put on this blue woman's underwear
over my own?! And who will tell me why
I've got both of my contacts in one eye?..."
So, when you're drunk - be naked, far away
from things that work so well on sober days.

PS. This semester I've got some free credit hours, so I took "Creavite
Writing: Poetry", just for fun. Our prof impressed by R.Hugo's "Triggering
town", gave us this exercise: to write a poem which
a) is completely senseless,
b) contains given words - "key","window","milk","blue", and someone's
name,
c) doesn't rhyme.
I failed on (c) - my cultural background still doesn't allow me to write
lousy free verses so often. But as to (a) and (b), I think I managed to piss
off that dude Hugo. What do you think? :)

I know nothing about RTB. I suppose it's something invented for rich and

As to experience:
I flought last July from Leningrad to NYC by "Balkan" (Bulgarian company)
for $550. The same cost a CZA ticket.
Last year I had a round-trip ticket with "open date" for one year for
about $500 ("Aeroflot", Ld-Washington-Ld)
This year a friend of mine got "British Airlines" round-trip for about $800,
Pittburgh-London-Ld-London-Pittsburgh

Yeah, you are so damn right! I tried to find this subject in American

wanted to go right down that.... Hmm... I didn't find *that*, man! I
check everything! Even armpits... Even between their toes... American

Mr. Andreyev,
I was a bit shocked by your comments in soc.culture. russian in which you
accused one American gentleman of marrying a Russian hooker simply because
he was commenting that his wife seemed to be lacking in Russian semantics
on which to communicate certain spiritual and religious principles.
Most ignorant people, such as yourself, will usually attack the
commentator while deflecting the issue under consideration. You seem to
ignore the fact that there was undeniably an effort (more like a war) by
several generations of Soviet political regimes to undermine any
practice of religion by their own people. You express that Russian
cathedrals are better than "cheap player houses" in America. Well Mr.
Andreyev, we in America comprehend that it is important that some worship
actually be allowed to occur inside our churches rather than merely
maintaining a soul-less facade of a house of worship, as did your former
Soviets. We don't really care what the building looks like. Perhaps you
defend the former communist losers so vociferously, because you are a
former KGB propagandist who supported religious suppression of your
countrymen. You obviously still have no clue as to what real freedom is,
being so mired in your own self-deception and ridicule the free thinking
of others.

>No fractal covers space.
Oh, Wlod, I thought you're a man who could manage with this subtle metaphor,
and understood what I meant saying *cover*. After all, your GO-stones don't
completely *surround* the area - there is always some space among stones,
it's only called "surrounded" :) Of course a tree, or a dendrite, or spots
of color in Monet paintings, veins in human body don't *cover* the space.
They disload (or discharge? relieve?) a certain potential of the space
around them. With the help of the minimum of "building material".
For example, you want to build the system of water channels in the desert
(want to "discharge dryness"). You don't have to *cover* the whole land with
a lake of water (in a shape of circle, what a waste! :) but you'll build a
tree-like structure:
... ... ...
. . . . desert
/ / / ....
/ / / .
Channels \ \-------------------- . the approximate
---> \ \ \ \ \ ... <--- border of dry
\ \ \ \ \ . area (points)
\ \ .
\ \ .
\ \ / / ...
\ \ / / .
\ \ ----------- .
\ \
What you presented in your article is some mathematical features of such
structures, while I was talking about the organizing principle of their
growth: namely, a tree with its branches *covering* the space (discharge
the potential of fresh - with enough CO2 - air) such a fractal way does
it also in the optimal way (minimum of material used); so do waves, color
spots, etc.
I used it as a metaphor for poems that consist of words where every
word-bead works the same way as a channel or a well in the desert - it
doesn't surround the area (meaning) as a brick wall would do (let's say,
meticulous prose), but it jots the borders of the alive.
>PPS. When a set in euclidean 3-space contains even a small solid ball
>then it is not a fractal.
Yes, and in this case people can talk about "cluster dimention" which is
very similar to the fractal dimention, so principles still work. For
example, particles of dust can be treated like little balls - but sometimes
dust can form - on the macroscopic level - perfectly fractal dendrites
as long as it's not disturbed by vacuum cleaners :)
Sorry for non-poetic stuff, but it's really bad feeling
when people call me "blinding knowledge" if I weren't a good fellow but
one of Inquisitors :)

very good:

*** Schitalka N2 ***
Samolet, samolet,
zaberi menya v polet,
mne tut kak-to ne vezet,
ya zdes' prosto idiot..
Samolet, samolet,
pust' menya v polete rvet -
zaberi menya v polet
v raskudryavyi nebosvod!
Pod krylom tvoim poet,
shelestit svoe taiga
iz zelenen'kih "tan'ga" -
vyderni menya iz not!
V toi taige - dikoi narod
molitsya na ogorod:
vyrosla l' "kapusta"?
A v polete - pusto!
Tak voz'mi menya v polet,
hot' na vysote ya trushu.
Esli chto - ya ne narushu
cheloveko-oborot...
Samolet, samolet!
chelovek, ved' on - pilot,
no vsyu zhizn' zachem-to vret...
Zaberi menya v polet!

people are strange chuzhie lyudi
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
people are strange esli ty strannik,
when you are stranger. lyudi - chuzhie.
faces look ugly litsa protivny,
when you're alone. kogda odinok.
women seem wicked zhenschiny kazhutsya
when you're unwanted. merzkimi, zlymi.
streets are uneven esli ustal -
when you're down. lish' nerovnost' dorog
when you're strange, vidish'. i v serdtse
faces come out of the rain, nikto ne nahodit
when you're strange, imya tvoe:
noone remembers your name, net imen dlya tebya,
when you're strange, strannyi chuzhak.
when you're strange, tol'ko molcha vyhodyat
when you're strange... novye litsa iz-pod dozhdya...
